EDIT: So, i've made my decision: I'm gonna go for an Intuos Pro!

I'm planning to buy a graphics tablet, and I need to know, from the POV of other artists, what's better.
Specifically, the difference between a Wacom Inutos and Wacom Intuos Pro.

I'm getting a medium, whatever model it may be and intend to buy this monitor to go with it: www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-ta… after reading this article cameratico.com/guides/how-to-c….

Some things to consider
  • This will be my first tablet.
  • I don't want to have to buy one later down the track unless it breaks for some reason. I want it to last as long as possible.
  • I'm very nervous about spending a lot of money, but I want to pursue my art because It's something I'm passionate about.
  • I don't plan on using it for regular internet browsing and I will be keeping my mouse, since I also game.
And a question:
I usually drag my hand across the page when drawing; will that be an issue with a tablet? Will i have to 'hover' my hand over the tablet, as though I'm keeping from smearing something? Or does it only respond to the stylus and what won't be an issue?

I'm leaning toward the Pro, mainly because I want something that I can grow with and it seems to have more features, however the price ($400AUD) is making me want to curl up and cry. I really don't like asking to have that much money spent on me. Slap on the extra $100 for the monitor and I feel like I need to hide under a rock.
Oh, and the $54 for Paint Tool SAI. Q_Q Although that cost has been graciously offered to be covered by my Aunt who took an interest in my sketches and wants to see them come to life. :iconlazyblush2plz: It's because of her interest that I'm starting to take an active interest in hunting down what I want.

But if the Pro is better for well, getting better, then I'm willing to go for it. I just don't want to be socked for money when something else does the same job perfectly well, so I'm asking you, the more experienced artists, to give me some advice.
(When i say 'more experienced' I mean those of you who have had to make this decision also. What made you choose what you did?)

Thank you very much in advance for any help you decide to offer.

I don't know much about these, but I've seen a lot of people use Tool Paint SAI. Been busy?
